Hifz-e-Quran

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله  وبركاته

Welcome to Al-Masjid.

We currently offer an online hifdh programme for children.

This gives children the opportunity to learn from home, especially where they don’t have access to local classes.

Firstly we need to understand the purpose of hifdh and what are the benefits of memorising the Noble Qur’aan.

The Qur’aan is the speech of Allah SWT and our intention should be to please Allah SWT alone and gain closeness to Him.  Through memorising the Qur’aan our connection with the Qur’aan is strengthened and recitation of the Qur’aan is made easy.

Highest ranks of Jannah for the Memoriser of the Qur’an: Ibn ‘Amr

reported that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam) said: “It will be said to the companion of the Qur’aan after he has entered Paradise, ‘Recite, and rise!’

For every verse he recites he will rise one level (in Paradise), until he recites

the last verse with him (i.e., in his memory).” (Aboo Dawood)

So Through the Qur’aan our ranks will

Increase in Jannah

A Our hifdh programme is divided into 2 parts. The first part is a class called pre-hifdh where a child memorises juzz 1 and through this a child’s ability is determined.  After passing a test they will then be admitted into the second part of the programme, which is the full hifdh class.

Conditions for the hifdh class:

  • The child should be a minimum age of 8
  • Reading of the Qur’aan should be fluent with correct recognition of the letters and basic pronounciation.
  • 3 hours must be spent at home daily  learning the new lesson (sabaq), recently learned lesson (sabaq dhor) and revision (dhor)
  • Children should be fully supervised whilst reading to their teacher.
  • Parents must be committed to helping and listening to their child every day at home.

The rewards for the parents of a haafidh are great, but the effort behind is also a great task.
